About this board game

Circle the Wagons is a 2-player map-building game that plays in about 15 minutes. Each player is building a boomtown in the American West, competing to create the most prosperous town.

Cards are drafted around a circle, then placed into each player’s town. Plan your layout carefully as you try to connect matching territories and score prosperity points. Every placement can shape the possibilities for the rest of your town.

Three bonus cards sit in the center of the circle, offering additional ways to score. Choosing when to pursue these bonuses—and placing cards so your town can meet their conditions—adds another layer of strategy to every game.

With more than 800 unique ways to score and millions of drafting and placement combinations, no two towns need to develop in the same way. Circle the Wagons offers a different puzzle each time you play, while keeping its focus on card choices and clever town construction.

Designed by Steven Aramini, Danny Devine, and Paul Kluka, Circle the Wagons features art by Beth Sobel and logo design by Bryan Fischer. The game was the winner of the 2016 Button Shy Wallet Design Contest, chosen from more than 70 competing games, and was released in 2017.
