Cloudspire: Shada – Faction Expansion is a faction expansion for 1–4 players, with play taking about 180 minutes. Released in 2026, it introduces the Shada, an elemental faction built around terrain control, specialized movement, and inventive minion combinations.

Each Shada minion can move along paths and across a specific type of terrain, encouraging players to read the map in new ways. Their abilities become especially potent when the minions occupy the terrain they are associated with, turning varied layouts into strategic opportunities.

The Shada’s spires also reward careful placement. Specific terrain types can boost their abilities, while fortress upgrades make terrain bonuses more powerful by connecting spire placement with boosted CP and multiple terrain types. Controlling and diversifying the map becomes central to developing the faction’s strength.

The faction’s four basic minion types are stone, wind, fire, and water. They can combine into new forms: fire and water create steam, while wind and stone create dust. These promoted minions gain new terrain allowances and abilities, giving the Shada player flexible answers to different opponents and board layouts.

Fortress upgrades further expand the combination system, and an ambitious Shada player can claim the Bioweapon die to combine already promoted units.
