Coloretto: The Limit Cards

About this expansion

Coloretto: The Limit Cards is an official mini expansion for Coloretto, designed for 3–5 players and playable in about 30 minutes. Created by Coloretto’s author, it adds a new way to define the ideal shape of your scoring groups.

The expansion introduces Limit Cards, each showing two numbers. The top number states how many scoring groups score positive points, while the bottom number sets the maximum number of cards allowed in a scoring group.

For example, a Limit Card marked 5 and 3 means that players are optimally trying to collect five scoring groups, with three cards in each group. These limits give collections a specific target and provide a clear framework for evaluating the cards gathered during the game.

• The top number indicates the number of scoring groups that score positive points.
• The bottom number indicates the maximum number of cards in a scoring group.
• A 5-and-3 card encourages five scoring groups of three cards each.

Released as a BoardGameGeek promotional item in March 2012, this edition matches the card quality of the base Coloretto game. It includes the rules in both English and German, making it easy to add the expansion to an appropriately matched copy of the game.
