About this expansion

Colt Express: Bandits – Doc is a 2–5 player expansion for Colt Express, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Players compete against Doc, a game-controlled bandit whose special rules create a new challenge and a distinct story each time.

Although everyone must work together to stop Doc from winning, there can ultimately be only one winning bandit: the richest player. Doc wins if he becomes the richest bandit, causing all players to lose, so every decision must balance cooperation against personal gain.

The central struggle is for Doc’s respect. Whenever a bandit shoots or punches Doc, that player takes Doc’s respect card. The player holding the card makes all decisions in Doc’s place, turning respect into a powerful and contested responsibility.

  • Respect card: Take control of Doc’s decisions after shooting or punching him.
  • Special bullets: Each bullet triggers a different effect during the current round.
  • Poker game: All bandits must participate and hand over one of their loot.
  • Shared danger: Stop Doc before he becomes the richest bandit, or everyone loses.

Doc’s special actions keep the round unpredictable. His special bullets each produce a different current-round effect, while the poker game forces every bandit to contribute loot. The player with Doc’s respect then distributes two loot to Doc and one loot to each other bandit except one.

With its shifting control, forced poker decisions, and race to wealth, Colt Express: Bandits – Doc adds a focused battle against the game itself. Players must manage Doc’s growing fortune while still pursuing the riches needed to win individually.
