About this board game

Combi-Nations is a tile-placement game for 1–5 players, with plays lasting around 40 minutes. Each player transforms a desolate landscape into a developed country filled with forests, grasslands, cities, lakes and matching facilities.

Every player begins with a sandy land shape made from seven tiles, each containing six hexagons. During the game, you cultivate this landscape by selecting face-up tiles from the spaces around the Market board. Tiles contain one, two or three hexagons, with three different shapes available for the three-hexagon tiles.

Your Arrow pawn determines which tiles you can take. Move it in the direction it points around the Market board, selecting one of the first three tiles in front of it. The number of spaces moved determines which new tile is placed face-up in the spot where your Arrow started.

  1. Move your Arrow around the Market board.
  2. Take the tile indicated by your Arrow and reveal a new tile according to the distance moved.
  3. Place the selected tile face-up on sand spaces in your country, adjacent to at least one land or facility hexagon.

The available hexagons represent four land types or one of 24 different facilities. As your landscape develops, the placement of each tile helps shape the areas you will score at the end of the game.

Victory points come from forests, grasslands, cities and lakes, with larger areas providing more points. Facilities are scored according to their individual scoring rules, while remaining open sand hexagons reduce your final score. With its changing tile market and expanding landscapes, Combi-Nations challenges players to turn barren ground into a carefully developed country.
