About this board game

Cosmic Frog is a 2020 board game for 2–6 players, with play taking about 90 minutes, in which immortal, invulnerable frogs harvest the fragments of a shattered world.

Each player controls a two-mile-tall frog-like creature serving the First Ones, who seek to reconstruct the world of Aeth. Descend from the Aether onto a terrain-rich Shard, gather lands, and store them in your massive gullet. When it is full enough, leap back into the Aether to disgorge your haul into an inter-dimensional vault for permanent storage.

Your shared mission is to collect as much land as possible, but your personal objective is to create the most valuable vault. Plan your collection carefully to maximize linear sets of identical lands while also pursuing diversity across your vault.

• Harvest terrain at your own pace or attack rival frogs.
• Steal lands from opponents’ gullets through combat.
• Raid a frog’s vault when it has been knocked into the Outer Dimensions.
• Adapt your plans when Aether Flux causes mutations and changes your powers.

The Aether is never stable for long. Splinters of Aeth can fall from orbit and crash into the Shard, destroying large areas of terrain and potentially blasting the entire Shard apart. Since the frogs are immortal and invulnerable, conflict causes irritation and inconvenience rather than injury or death.

The game ends when the Shard has no harvestable land left or a Splinter shatters it. The player with the highest-valued vault wins, and in Cosmic Frog, even a carefully crafted strategy may need to change as chaos reshapes the battlefield.
