About this board game

Cytress is a 2025 board game for 1–5 players, with an approximately 100-minute play time, about a rebel mercenary’s attempt to enter Stratos, Earth’s largest sky hub.

Stratos is home to Earth’s most powerful, wealthy, and influential people, while its inhabitants dismiss everyone below as the Underbelly. You reject this oppressive divide and aim to prove that the leviathan city is not reserved for a powerful few.

Before reaching Stratos, you must establish a name in the Underbelly and develop a strategy for getting yourself and your crew inside. The city’s security watches its gates around the clock, and illegal entry carries a deadly price.

• Choose a faction and make use of its key abilities.
• Select the most promising missions from those available.
• Hone your skills, upgrade your abilities, and gather supplies.
• Work with your crew to prepare for the journey through the Tubes.

The Tubes are vertical shafts used as Stratos’s waste chutes—and your one-way ticket into the sky colony. Reaching them will require cunning choices, careful preparation, and the support of your crew.

As you compete to achieve your objective, every faction offers abilities that can help you outwit the opposition. In Cytress, success means turning your growing reputation, resources, and strategy into a chance at Stratos’s elite citizenry—or remaining among the oppressed inhabitants of the Underbelly.
