About this expansion

D-Day Dice: Atlantikwall is an expansion for 1–5 players, played in about 45 minutes, that adds a German player to D-Day Dice. Released in 2012, it lets one player take the German side while the others play as the Allies.

The German player can join any existing Map. In a two-player game, the expansion creates a direct head-to-head confrontation; it can also be added to a game with any group of players. The German side is represented as the Battle Map itself, bringing a new perspective to the game.

Rather than moving across the Map, the German player decides when to activate some of its features and how to make life difficult for the Allies. Like the other players, the German player rolls dice to gather resources, then spends those resources to recruit Specialists and find Items.

The major difference comes from Courage. Instead of using it to move, the German player uses Courage to draw cards from the Decorations deck. These cards provide special one-time abilities, giving the German side additional ways to influence the battle.

The expansion includes two Battle Maps and a set of counters:

  • Exercise Fabius
  • Omaha Beach II
  • A few counters for the game

With its German player, new Battle Maps, and Decoration cards, D-Day Dice: Atlantikwall changes how the Map is used and adds a distinct opposing role to the D-Day Dice experience.
