About this board game

Dark Tomb: Bloodthorn Island is an ultra-portable tabletop dungeon crawler for 1–5 players, with games lasting about 50 minutes. Work together as a party of uniquely skilled characters to reach Bloodthorn Island and defeat the evil land serpent Lorgon.

The adventure unfolds across three stages, combining exploration, item collection, and monster battles. Characters are fully interchangeable with those from Dark Tomb – Crypts of Aurelian, allowing the same character options to join this new quest.

On each turn, characters can choose from a variety of attacks, movement options, and other abilities. Items encountered during the journey can also be used to support the party as it navigates the island and confronts its dangers.

• Collect useful items and battle monsters.
• Use character abilities, movement, attacks, and items each turn.
• Conquer each stage by fully exploring it and defeating all monsters.

Every play-through is different because the map tiles, monsters, and items are randomized. This changing setup creates a fresh challenge each time the party ventures into Bloodthorn Island.

If the party fails in its quest, the adventure is not necessarily over. Characters can recoup and try again before continuing the struggle. Successfully conquering one stage allows the group to move on to the next, building toward the final confrontation.
