Dead Cells: The Rogue-Lite Board Game is a cooperative dungeon crawler for 1–4 players, with games lasting around 45 minutes. Inspired by the Metroidvania genre, it sends you across the ever-changing island of Dead Cells in a ruthless cycle of exploration, combat, death, and growth.

Choose one of four Beheaded heroes and explore a sprawling castle filled with branching paths. Decide whether to claim a scroll to upgrade a character power, open a chest for a new weapon, or search for hidden runes that unlock new routes and biomes.

Each character class has unique power sets and an action-card deck. During an enemy encounter, choose a single action card to cover all three phases of the fight. Defeat the island’s Malaise-born abominations to collect equipment, gold, scrolls, and Cells, but remember that your health pool is limited.

• Explore: Navigate changing biomes and choose your path through the castle.
• Kill: Use character abilities and action cards to overcome enemy encounters.
• Die: Fatal traps and powerful monsters can cost you your scrolls, equipment, and accumulated gold.
• Mutate: Spend retained Cells with the Collector to gain permanent upgrades.
• Repeat: Return in a new loop, face stronger monstrosities, and push deeper into the island.

Death is not the end. Use Cells to buy permanent mutations from the Brutality, Survival, or Tactics decks, improve your action cards, expand your loot deck with blueprints, increase your health pool, and unlock additional item slots.

As you advance, defeating bosses grants access to new starting biomes. Previously explored areas continue to change, bringing tougher enemies and powerful new items. In Dead Cells: The Rogue-Lite Board Game, every run offers another chance to turn failure into lasting progress.
