Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition) – Oath of the Outcast is an expansion for 2–5 players, released in 2014. It brings four heroes and three monster groups from the first edition of Descent: Journeys in the Dark into new adventures, while adding two brand-new quests.

Trenloe the Strong, Laurel of Bloodwood, Elder Mok, and Shiver join your quests as eager heroes. Alongside them come three threatening monster groups: bane spiders, beastmen, and razorwings.

As the first of the Heroes and Monsters expansions, Oath of the Outcast broadens the forces available for your Descent campaigns. Its new content combines returning characters and creatures with a pair of focused scenarios.

• Four heroes: Trenloe the Strong, Laurel of Bloodwood, Elder Mok, and Shiver
• Three monster groups: bane spiders, beastmen, and razorwings
• Two new quests: “Oath of the Outcast” and “Prison of Ice and Lies”

In these quests, the heroes attempt to stop the perpetrators of a dark ritual. Their goal is to prevent the reanimation of a host of powerful undead warriors, placing the fate of the adventure in direct opposition to this dangerous scheme.
