About this expansion

Discordia: Magna is a 2023 board game for 1–4 players, with play sessions lasting around 90 minutes. Set along the Rhine during the Roman Empire, it places you in the role of a governor competing to create the most impressive fortified city.

The Roman settlements on the border of Germania are flourishing. Trade is thriving, new outposts are appearing, and the cities are becoming increasingly grand—but their rival governors are also growing more divided as they seek glory for Rome.

Across four years, develop your city and make strategic use of your individual advantages. You must decide how to use the available outposts represented by the expansion’s Magna Tiles, including whether to form a strategic alliance to defend against attacks from Germanic tribes.

These alliances can provide valuable bonuses, giving your decisions an important role in the growth and protection of your settlement. The setting combines Roman ambition, border defense, expanding trade, and competition between governors into a focused city-building challenge.
