About this board game
Dixit Jinx is a 15-minute game for 3–6 players in which abstract images inspire clues, guesses, and carefully timed choices.
Unlike the original Dixit, Jinx uses abstract images rather than realistic illustrations depicting scenes. At the start of a turn, nine cards are placed face-up in a 3×3 square. The active player secretly draws a locator map showing which card they must use.
The active player then gives a clue connected to that card. They can speak, sing, or act something relating to the image, just as in Dixit. The other players take turns pointing to cards, with only one player allowed to choose each card.
- Place nine cards face-up in a 3×3 grid.
- Secretly identify the active player’s assigned location.
- Give a verbal, musical, or acted clue.
- Point to cards and try to find the correct one.
As soon as a player selects the right card, the turn ends, and that player keeps the card. Each card is worth one victory point. Players who guessed incorrectly give their selected cards to the active player, adding another consequence to an unsuccessful search.
If nobody finds the correct card, the active player must return one card they previously won. This gives every clue a meaningful risk, whether the table quickly identifies the image or misses it entirely.
Released in 2012, Dixit Jinx offers a compact interpretation of the Dixit concept, built around abstract artwork, secret locations, and creative clues that can be spoken, sung, or acted out.
