About this board game
Dogs Alone is a set-collection card game for 2–5 players, with games lasting about 40 minutes. Based on the popular Chilean TV show 31 Minutos, it puts you in charge of dogs determined to party while Mario Hugo is away at work.
Instead of waiting quietly for his return, the dogs play, sing, bark, and create all kinds of trouble. Your goal is to collect the dog cards needed to make disasters, while ensuring that every disaster is back in order before Mario Hugo notices what happened.
On your turn, you can recruit a dog from the market or the pile and add it to your hand. If you meet the requirements, you can use your collected dogs to commit a disaster in your game zone. Alternatively, you can clean a disaster already in your zone.
- Collect dogs: Recruit cards from the market or pile to build the combinations you need.
- Create disasters: Meet a disaster card’s requirements using the dogs in your hand.
- Clean the mess: Resolve disasters in your game zone to prepare for Mario Hugo’s arrival.
Disaster cards are the main way to score points, but making a mess is only half the challenge. You must clean each disaster before Mario Hugo’s cards come into play for the third time; otherwise, those hard-earned points cannot be gained.
With its push-and-pull between collecting the right dogs, causing trouble, and restoring order, Dogs Alone turns a dog party into a race against discovery. Plan your card choices carefully and make sure the house looks innocent when Mario Hugo returns.
