Dominations: Dynasties

About this expansion

Dominations: Dynasties is a board game for 2–4 players, with play lasting about 120 minutes. Released in 2019, it challenges you to ally with your nation’s most prominent families and use their skills to make your civilisation more powerful.

The game features six Dynasties, with each great family associated with one of Dominations’ Knowledge Domains. During each Age, you play Dynasty cards representing exceptional members of these families. Their abilities can generate resources, victory points, or both, while other effects provide a powerful boost during your turns.

Your card choices matter beyond their immediate abilities. The order in which you play your Dynasty cards represents the Dynasty leading your people through the Ages. By collecting sets, you can gain extra points, making the development of your Dynasty an important part of your civilisation’s progress.

• Six Dynasties: Each is linked to one of the game’s Knowledge Domains.
• Three Ages: Separate decks for Ages I, II, and III feature increasingly powerful abilities.
• Drafting: Choose cards from a changing hand as cards are passed around the table.
• Dynasty effects: Generate resources, earn victory points, and gain useful boosts during your turns.

At the start of each Age, every player draws four Dynasty cards and selects one to keep before passing the rest to the player on their left. Players then take the three cards passed from the right, choose another card, and repeat the process once more. Each player finishes with three Dynasty cards in hand, while all unused cards return to the box.

With its combination of card drafting, powerful family abilities, and set collection, Dominations: Dynasties makes the timing and order of your choices central to leading your nation through the Ages.
