About this board game

Dominion: Special Edition is a deck-building game for 2–4 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Each player begins with an identical, very small deck and gradually builds a more efficient collection of cards while competing to claim the most victory points.

At the center of the table is a selection of cards available to buy. As players draw and play their hands, they choose which cards to add to their decks and decide how to use them, creating a changing strategy throughout the game.

The setting casts players as monarchs ruling small kingdoms of rivers and evergreens. Rival rulers are pursuing the same ambition, so everyone must race to secure unclaimed land while hiring minions, constructing buildings, improving their castles, and filling their treasuries.

• Deck construction during play: Start with the same small deck, then shape it through the cards you buy.
• High variety: The game includes 500 cards and 25 Kingdom card types, with 10 Kingdom types selected for each game.
• Special Edition content: Includes the Dominion base game, coin cards featuring the newer artwork first seen in the Dominion Base Cards accessory, and the promotional Black Market card.

Dominion is not a collectible card game, though its play offers a similar sense of constructing and using a card deck. Every purchase can influence the efficiency of your deck and your route toward victory, making card selection and hand management central to the experience.
