Dream Home: Pets

About this expansion

Dream Home: Pets is a 2020 expansion for 2–4 players, with a listed play time of 30 minutes. It adds four Animal tokens to the game and introduces a new way to collect and compete over them.

During play, the last player in the turn picks a card and places a random animal token on it. The token stays with that card until a player takes it, creating an additional feature to consider when cards are selected.

• At the end of the game, the player with the most tokens of a single animal type takes that animal.

The token system gives each card an extra element beyond the card itself. Because the token is placed randomly and collected when its card is taken, players can watch for opportunities to gather matching animals while choosing cards.

At the end of the game, animal collections are compared by type. Whoever has the most tokens of one animal type takes that animal, giving the expansion a clear finishing contest based on collected tokens.

With its compact rules addition, Dream Home: Pets brings animals into the game through card selection, random token placement, and an end-game majority check. It is designed for groups of 2–4 players and fits a listed 30-minute play time.
