About this board game

Emergence Event is a competitive space exploration game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. Each player commands their species’ capital ship as a captain with a unique deck of captain cards, individual strengths, and special abilities.

Explore and control locations across a changing galaxy to gain resources, artifacts, and technology. These advantages help you face more difficult encounters as the game progresses, while the passage of time makes potential rewards greater—and failure more costly.

Players influence the game’s length through the pace at which they move through the galaxy and how effectively they manage damage caused by their travels or by rival captains. Your captain’s strengths and chosen play style shape how you approach each challenge.

The galaxy is built from modular tiles, and many elements within it change from game to game. This creates fresh layouts, distinct challenges, and strong replayability for every session.
