About this board game

EONS is a cosmic strategy game for 2–5 players, played in about 90 minutes, in which universal architects compete to shape the universe and earn the most victory points.

After the Big Bang, players gather elemental building blocks and use them to create stars, planets, and other cosmic phenomena. The core elements include Hydrogen, Carbon, Oxygen, and Iron, giving each architect the materials needed to develop a growing cosmos.

Stars are more than valuable cosmic bodies. Once created, they perform fusion and produce resources that can be used to build additional stars, planets, or other cosmic events. Every cosmic body a player builds is worth Essence, representing their power and influence and providing a way to purchase more elements from the stockpile.

  • Gather elements to construct stars and other celestial bodies.
  • Use star fusion to produce resources for future creations.
  • Spend Essence to acquire additional elements.
  • Destroy stars to collect resources while accelerating the end of the game.

Resource management is central to EONS. Players must carefully weigh the benefits of their planets and stars, spend their Essence wisely, and decide when construction is preferable to destruction. Denying stars the resources they need for fusion can cause them to die, hastening the endgame and changing the balance of the developing universe.

Each destroyed cosmic body reduces the entropy countdown. When that countdown reaches zero, the universe ends. The remaining cosmic bodies that grant victory points are then totaled, and the architect with the highest score wins. With varied strategies and hidden agendas, EONS challenges players to build judiciously, manage scarcity, and guide their version of the universe through eon after eon.
