Etherfields: Thorn Knight

About this expansion

Etherfields: Thorn Knight is a 2020 character option for 1–4 players, with a listed play time of 180 minutes. Rather than serving as a standard additional character, the Thorn Knight is an alternative that any player may choose during a game.

When a player takes on this role, they set aside their usual in-game character. That character’s soul enters the empty shell of the Thorn Knight, guiding the soulless golem into its next adventure. The player’s normal character is not used during that particular game.

The Thorn Knight has its own progression. Any Ether acquired while playing this role belongs to the Thorn Knight, and after the game it can be spent on additional cards selected from the overall Action cards. Action cards won during the game also become part of the Thorn Knight’s deck.

• Can be shared between players across different games

Players can take turns playing the Thorn Knight over multiple games, jointly and gradually expanding its starting deck. Its starting special abilities provide the foundation for development, while new cards can help shape a character filled with powerful combinations.

Over time, this shared character can become a formidable common weapon for special challenges. The result is a distinctive way to approach Etherfields: Thorn Knight, with the whole group contributing to the growth of one highly specific alternative character.
