Europe Engulfed: WWII European Theatre Block Game is a 2–3 player strategic World War II game covering the European conflict from September 1939 through the end of 1945, with a listed play time of 720 minutes.

Designed for playability without sacrificing historical detail, the game uses turns representing two months of war. Its entire campaign can be completed in a single 10-to-14-hour day once players are familiar with the rules, while shorter campaigns and scenarios offer faster alternatives.

The wooden block units create a powerful fog of war. Only the controlling player knows whether a hidden land unit is armor or infantry, and whether it is weak or strong, until combat begins. This uncertainty ensures that even experienced players must contend with tactical surprises and strategic errors.

Production and strategic warfare occur within each game turn. Conquering powers do not receive the same value from resource areas as the original owner, while production choices range from fleets, U-boats, strategic fighters and bombers, and ground-support units to flak, V-weapons, armor, infantry, paratroopers, and cavalry.

Special Actions represent the large territorial gains possible during a two-month turn without requiring numerous player turns. Players can purchase additional movement phases and combat rounds, launch amphibious or airborne assaults, and even act during an opponent’s combat phase.
