About this board game

Fall of Lumen is a stand-alone deck-building and tableau-building game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 150 minutes. Set after the Void battles, it casts you as a rebel Hero determined to bring down the flying citadel of Lumen.

The Outer Lands are devastated, while the Eternals who founded Lumen remain safely above them. As an ex-Keeper returning from exile, you must rescue former comrades from the Inner Worlds and infiltrate them into Lumen as incognito agents. Compete to become the most influential Hero by placing the most Agents on the citadel.

Move your Hero across eight regions and spend skills to gather Gold, Mana, Mithril, Dark Matter, and Genasi. These resources help you acquire traits, learn spells, buy trinkets, retrieve artifacts, and hire followers that improve your capabilities. Build enough of the required skills—Deception, Wit, Fighting, Wizardry, and the versatile Void—to restore dimensional connections and bring back Keepers.

• Deck-building: improve your deck with more powerful cards.
• Open drafting: face-up market options let you plan purchases, but other players may claim them first.
• Tableau building: Followers and Trinkets provide reliable abilities that can be used once per turn before becoming exhausted.
• Area movement: travel between regions to reach gathering actions, markets, and Challenge locations.

As the game progresses, attention shifts toward infiltrating saboteurs into Lumen’s five districts: Informers, Engineers, Fighters, Wizards, and Voyagers. Each provides victory points and either immediate or recurring income, while crowded District Windows increase the cost of future infiltrations.

Fall of Lumen features indirect interaction rather than “Take That” effects, with tension arising from challenges, market timing, and competing infiltration plans. It also includes a solo mode and a two-player cooperative variant.
