About this board game

Fantasy Frontier is a fantasy board game for 2–4 players, with play times of 45–90 minutes, in which crews aboard unique airships explore a developing world and compete for victory points.

Each turn, you carefully manage the actions of five workers. Their assignments determine whether your airship moves across the board, discovers new opportunities, gathers valuable resources, or helps develop your growing settlement.

Build the map as you play by drawing and placing terrain tiles. Geographic patterns emerge through tile placement, while map cards challenge you to create specific arrangements. Development cards can also improve the performance of your airship.

• Pilot the airship to move around the board.
• Scout the land by drawing terrain tiles and expanding the community map.
• Gather resources such as food, wood, stone, and gold.
• Construct townships to gain recurring resources and victory points.
• Engage in aerial combat to hinder rivals and potentially score points.
• Repair ship damage caused by battles.

Landing your airship lets workers disembark to collect resources or construct townships. These resources help improve worker performance and provide what you need to expand your presence in the new world.

Fantasy Frontier blends a peaceful Euro-style experience with an optional take-that element. Players can focus on exploration, development, and geographic patterns, while aerial battles offer another way to slow opponents and gain points.

The goal is to be the first player to reach the required number of victory points. Points come from building townships, completing geographic patterns, and fighting rivals in airship battles, creating a different world and competitive path in every game.
