About this board game

Far Away is a two-player cooperative board game about discovery, survival, and the crushing loneliness of being the only two humans for lightyears. Each mission takes place on a randomly generated world with a unique ecosystem, creating a different challenge every time you play.

Join the Federation Alliance and choose from several active missions. Your objectives include completing the mission and rebuilding your ship after crashing onto the planet—because landing gear has been deemed optional. Success earns a meager paycheck, while failure can come through hunger, loneliness, or multiple grievous injuries.

Communication is one of the game’s defining challenges. Radios and other luxuries are not provided, so players can communicate only when they are in close physical proximity. Once separated on the board, you cannot communicate in real life, making trust, planning, and careful movement essential to survival.

Every planet contains an ecosystem populated by alien creatures. More than 32 creatures have been identified in the known universe, each with behavioral patterns influenced by factors such as diet and temperament. Players are encouraged to record creature actions with creativity and vibrant storytelling through the game’s ROLEPLAY activity.
