About this board game

FITS is a multi-player Tetris-style board game for 1–4 players with a play time of 45 minutes. Each player builds their own arrangement of polyominoes on an inclined board, competing through the spaces they leave uncovered.

Cards are drawn from a pile to determine which piece everyone takes. The available pieces contain three, four, or five squares, creating a changing puzzle as the game progresses.

Before placing a piece, players may rotate or reverse it into the position they want. The piece then slides down the inclined area and docks against the other pieces already on the board. Unlike in original Tetris, a piece cannot be moved horizontally once it has been dropped.

The result is a focused spatial puzzle that combines familiar falling-block ideas with deliberate placement. Since each player works on a separate board, everyone remains involved while trying to create a strong configuration and minimize—or otherwise shape—the spaces left open.

With its simple placement rule and meaningful choices about orientation, FITS offers a direct, tactile take on the polyomino puzzle format. An official expansion is available, along with unofficial expansions titled MOTS: More Of The Same, LOTS: Letters On The Spaces, and BOTS: Big Obnoxious Terrible Spaces. The game was also reimplemented as Mini FITS.
