About this board game
Flow is a cooperative board game for 1–6 players that plays in about 15 minutes. Together, players draw and play tiles to connect four animal spaces to the boat tile at the center of the board.
The goal is simple to understand, but the changing threat keeps the rescue effort under pressure. Players must work together to build connections before they run out of tiles, or the animals will not reach safety.
- Cooperative play for 1–6 players
- Approximately 15 minutes of play time
- Tile drawing and tile placement
- Four animal spaces to connect to the central boat
- A timer and dice-driven giant wave
Flow uses a timer to add urgency to every round of tile play. Each time the timer runs out, players roll two dice to determine where the giant wave strikes.
The wave can wash away tiles that have already been placed, disrupting connections the group has worked to create. Players therefore need to respond to the changing board while continuing to connect the animal spaces to the boat.
If the players run out of tiles before they and the animals have been connected to the boat, everyone loses. With its shared objective, central boat, timer, and unpredictable wave, Flow presents a focused cooperative challenge in a compact playing time.
