About this board game

Fubi is a two-player tabletop football-billiards game played in about 20 minutes. It combines the feel of a football pitch with the striking challenge of billiards, creating a head-to-head contest where every shot matters.

The playing board is a football pitch filled with hammered-in pegs. An elastic band surrounds the board, while a heavy metal pinball serves as the ball. On your turn, smack the pinball and try to send it into the goal.

A missed attempt does not end the action. If you fail to score, your opponent hits the ball from the place where it stopped. Turns continue in this way until one player gets the ball into the goal.

  • Players: 2
  • Playing time: approximately 20 minutes
  • Core challenge: strike the metal ball through a pegged football pitch and into the goal

The pegs, surrounding elastic band, and heavy ball make Fubi more demanding than simply aiming at an open goal. The result is a compact physical contest that asks players to judge their shots while reacting to where the ball comes to rest.

Released in 2001, Fubi was included in the Games 100 for 2002, where it was described as more challenging than regular soccer or billiards and “a hoot to boot.” For players looking for a distinctive two-player tabletop sports game, it offers a focused scoring duel built around repeated shots and changing ball positions.
