About this board game
Get Off My Land! is a farming game for 2–4 players that takes place over a year, with a play time of about 120 minutes. Each player starts with a farmhouse surrounded by forest and must develop a profitable farm from nothing.
Begin by clearing the forest. This creates open land for farms while also providing the wood needed to build fences. Fence off the cleared areas to create spaces for growing crops or raising animals, then visit the market to buy what your farm needs.
Market stock is limited, so timing matters. Other farmers are competing for the same crops and animals, making it important to buy supplies before they are gone. As your farm develops, different parts of it provide different ways to earn money.
- Clear forest to gain land and wood.
- Build fences to create areas for crops and animals.
- Buy limited supplies from the market.
- Harvest crops and manage sources of ongoing income.
- Expand or adjust your farm while protecting its valuable resources.
Some elements provide a slow, steady income, while others can be harvested for a larger payment right away. Harvesting also means waiting for them to grow again, so choosing when to take income is an important part of building your farm.
Land and resources are scarce, and rival farmers may try to take advantage of your boundaries. Keep watch over your fences, your potatoes, and the rest of your farm as you compete to generate the most money. In Get Off My Land!, the farmer with the largest fortune at the end of the year wins. Released in 2017, it combines farm development, limited-market competition, income planning, and direct rivalry on a shared landscape.
