About this board game

Ghostbusters: The Board Game II is a standalone game for 1–4 players with an approximately 120-minute play time. Featuring an original story by comics writer Erik Burnham, it sends the Ghostbusters into a city flooded by mood slime, where earthquakes and riots threaten another attempt to bring back Vigo and his minions.

The devastated city is represented by map tiles showing buildings destroyed by earthquakes and fires, collapsed streets exposing slime-infested sewers, tunnels with derailed subway cars, and ghost trains. These locations create a dangerous setting for an investigation that can quickly move from bad to worse—and ultimately apocalyptic.

A key new feature is the ability to switch between Proton Packs and Slime Blower Packs. Custom figures and double-sided Character Cards support this change, giving the Ghostbusters the equipment they need to face different supernatural threats.

The game introduces challenging Plasma enemies. They can combine into stronger versions to attack, then split apart in defense. Immune to Proton Streams, these phantoms can only be defeated by Ghostbusters wielding Slime Blower Packs.

  • New ghosts bring Slime tokens that can hinder sight, movement, maneuvers, and combat rolls.
  • Experimental Ghostbusting equipment must be recovered after being stolen.
  • New weapon, trap, utility, and tome cards help even the odds.
  • Event Cards create further challenges as players seek rewards.

With its shifting equipment, evolving enemies, hazardous Slime tokens, and ruined urban maps, Ghostbusters: The Board Game II expands the setting with new ways to confront a supernatural disaster.
