Glory to Rome: Promo Cards

About this expansion

Glory to Rome: Promo Cards is a 36-card building-card expansion for 2–5 players, with a listed play time of 60 minutes. Released in 2011, it gathers cards suggested by BoardGameGeek users and selected through a community voting process.

The cards began as proposals in a GeekList, with the most-voted designs advancing to a Finalist Round. Cambridge Games Factory employees then chose which cards to keep, with assistance from BoardGameGeek users who helped playtest and refine the final designs.

This promo expansion was reserved for Kickstarter supporters of the Black Box Edition, although wider print runs were not ruled out. It was produced in two versions, giving players a choice between Ed Carter’s cartooney artwork and Heiko Günther’s essential style.

Before combining Glory to Rome: Promo Cards with an existing set, check the card sizes. The original-artwork expansion cards measure 63 × 88 mm, while cards from the 2007 printing of Glory to Rome I.V measure 64.5 × 89.5 mm.

Sleeves resolve the difference, and the promo cards are also compatible with later printings, which are the most common edition of I.V. Without sleeves or a later printing, the cards will be slightly mismatched in size.
