About this board game
Greedy Greedy Goblins is a simultaneous-play strategic tile-placement and bluffing game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 35 minutes.
Lead a clan of goblin miners seeking the most valuable collection of gems. Sixty mining tiles are placed face-down around a circle of cave boards and a guildhall board. Each round, everyone plays at the same time, using one hand to inspect one tile at a time before placing it on a cave.
The crucial decision is when to claim a board. Place one of your three goblins on the guildhall or a cave to secure it, but once claimed, no more tiles or goblins may be added there. You can commit early to protect a promising mine—or wait while other players reveal their plans.
- Gather treasure: Score coins for gem tiles in the mines you claim, with diamonds, monsters, and dynamite affecting the result.
- Use special abilities: The goblin on the guildhall draws a minion card, while goblins in caves can take minion cards when minion tiles appear there.
- Risk the blast: Dynamite multiplies a cave’s value, but three or more sticks destroy the mine and cost you coins.
After every goblin has been placed—or players have chosen not to place one—the boards resolve. If someone has 100 or more coins, the game ends and the player with the most coins wins. Otherwise, set up another round and keep digging.
Released in 2016, Greedy Greedy Goblins combines quick simultaneous choices with push-your-luck scoring and tactical timing as players compete to turn dangerous mines into the richest haul.
