About this board game

Grimm World is a solo open-world adventure game for one player, with campaigns lasting approximately 10–20 hours, or 900 minutes of playtime. Inspired by the dark fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, it casts you not as a shining hero, but as an ordinary citizen seeking escape from a dreary everyday life.

Explore abandoned ruins, roam through dark forests, drink mead in dubious taverns and hunt wild creatures. Random events, quests and rumors make every campaign unique, while your decisions create lasting consequences throughout the game world. Will you save a village, or help burn it down?

When danger strikes, face fairy-tale characters in dungeon-crawler-inspired tactical battles. Grimm World uses a unique action-reaction combat system, giving its encounters a distinct tactical focus as you contend with the threats found across this grim setting.

• Character development: Shape your character through two multi-level skill trees and more than 30 different pieces of equipment.
• Alignment: Your actions influence your character’s alignment, allowing a path toward either merciless murder or shining heroism.
• Time system: Every action consumes time, so while you enjoy another mug of mead, an unfortunate grandmother might be devoured by a wolf elsewhere.

Because time is always moving and choices reach beyond the immediate moment, even familiar activities can carry difficult consequences. The simple save system lets you preserve your progress after each game round by stacking the cards in a predetermined order, a process that takes less than five minutes.

With exploration, tactical combat, character customization and a world shaped by decisions, Grimm World offers a dark, story-driven fairy-tale experience designed to make no two playthroughs the same.
