Hanabi: Avalanche de couleurs

About this expansion

Hanabi: Avalanche de couleurs is a mini-expansion for 2–5 players, with games lasting around 25 minutes. It adds five multicolored firework cards, introducing a sixth firework that is more difficult to complete and can raise the score to 30 points.

Hanabi is a cooperative game in which everyone works together to create coloured fireworks. Players try to recompose suites of cards in sequence, from 1, 2, 3, 4, to 5, while facing an unusual challenge: each player holds their hand back to front.

You can see the cards held by the other players, but not the cards in your own hand. The group must therefore work together to build the fireworks despite this limitation. The added multicolored cards extend that shared puzzle with a demanding new objective.

The expansion also introduces the Choreography Timed variant, alongside the rule called Avalanche of Colors. Together with the new cards, these additions provide further ways to play this cooperative card game.

In Hanabi: Avalanche de couleurs, the goal remains collective: reconstruct the coloured sequences and complete the fireworks. The name Hanabi is the Japanese word for “fireworks,” combining the ideograms for “Flower” and “Fire.”
