About this expansion

HeroQuest: Barbarian Quest Pack is a 1992 expansion for the American version of HeroQuest, supporting 2–5 players with an approximately 120-minute play time. It introduces a 10-quest adventure set in the Arctic, including three solo quests designed for the Barbarian.

The tribal elders have summoned the Barbarian to defend the Northland from a danger long thought banished. The Frozen Horror has escaped its icy tomb and awaits Zargon’s command. To prove their worthiness, the Barbarian must first survive three dangerous quests alone before joining the other Heroes in a journey into the depths of Ice Mountain.

There, the Heroes must confront the Frozen Horror and destroy it forever. The quest book provides the full Arctic adventure, while new rooms, traps, tiles, cards, monsters, mercenaries, artifacts, spells, and treasure expand the HeroQuest experience.

  • 10 new quests, including three solo adventures for the Barbarian
  • 15 plastic figures, featuring the Frozen Horror, Yeti, Polar Warbear, Ice Gremlin, and four mercenaries
  • 30 new game cards and a full-color cardboard tile sheet
  • New artifacts, including the Armband of Ice, Ring of Warmth, Amulet of the North, and spell scrolls
  • New treasure and Chaos Spells, including Mind Freeze, Ice Wall, Chill, and Ice Storm

With its icy setting and focused Barbarian storyline, HeroQuest: Barbarian Quest Pack adds a substantial new adventure to the classic dungeon-crawling game. Its Arctic quests, specialized equipment, and distinctive cold-themed enemies create a memorable challenge for the Barbarian and fellow Heroes.
