About this board game

Hey, That’s My Fish! is a board game for 2–4 players that takes about 20 minutes to play. Each player controls a waddle of penguins competing to collect the most fish from a shifting field of hex-shaped ice tiles.

On every turn, move one penguin in a straight line across the ice. Penguins can travel over tiles showing 1, 2, or 3 fish, giving players a choice of where to move and which tile to claim.

• Move one penguin in a straight line.
• Collect the hex-shaped tile where that penguin began its movement.
• Create gaps in the ice that penguins cannot cross on later turns.

Because the tile beneath a moving penguin is removed, every move changes the routes available for future turns. Open gaps can separate penguins from one another and make previously accessible areas unreachable, so the ice field steadily becomes more divided as the game continues.

When a penguin can no longer move, it is removed from play, and its owner claims the tile on which it stands. Players continue gathering tiles and fish until their penguins can no longer move. The winner is the player who collects the most fish.

First released in 2003, Hey, That’s My Fish! offers a compact contest built around movement, tile collection, and a constantly changing play area. With fish values of 1, 2, and 3 on the ice tiles, each claimed hex contributes to the final total while also reshaping the board for everyone still in play.
