Hey Yo is a 15-minute rhythmic card game for 2–10 players, where everyone plays cards to a shared music chart and tries to create solid rhythms for points.

The game includes a small dedicated device that provides the beat. As the music indicates the right moment, players must play their cards in time. Missing the rhythm brings a penalty, so careful timing matters throughout the game.

Success also depends on communication. Players need to talk quickly, share information, and decide which cards to play before the next musical cue arrives. Together, the group works to shape the cards on the shared chart into effective patterns.

Hey Yo can be played cooperatively with 2–5 players. It also includes two identical decks, allowing 4–10 players to divide into teams and compete against one another.

The dedicated device sets the rhythm for play, but it is not the only option. You can instead use music of your choice to establish the game’s tempo, giving your group another way to accompany the card play.
