Hibachi: Hot & Spicy

About this expansion

Hibachi: Hot & Spicy is an expansion for 2–5 players with an approximately 45-minute play time, released in 2021. It adds components for a fifth player, special player boards, and new recipes that bring chili into the kitchen.

The expansion introduces Hot & Spicy Recipe cards, which can be used instead of the base game’s recipe cards or shuffled into the existing recipe deck. Unlike regular recipes, these dishes require chili as an ingredient, giving players a new spicy option to pursue.

Hot & Spicy recipes are earned in the same way as regular recipes, but learning one requires spending 4 ingredient cards: three ingredients plus chili. Players can make their dishes extra tasty or aim specifically for one of the new recipes that calls for a sprinkling of spice.

Each player also receives a special chef mat. These mats provide a special ability and offer space to store chips and other items. Alongside the new player boards, the expansion includes additional throwing chips and enough material to support play with a fifth participant.
