About this expansion
Hold the Line: French and Indian War Expansion Set is a 2008 expansion for 1–2 players, with games designed for approximately 60 minutes. It brings the French and Indian War to Hold the Line, exploring the conflict that helped shape future leaders and laid seeds for the American Revolutionary War.
This expansion adds forces and terrain for battles involving French armies, Indian warriors, British ranger units, and amphibious operations. Its contents include an eight-page color rule and scenario book, along with new hex tiles for Indian villages, open water, boats, forts, and additional forest terrain.
- Battle on Snowshoes: On March 13, 1758, Rogers Rangers are ambushed by combined French and Indian forces and must survive until night to escape.
- Louisbourg: On June 8, 1758, General Wolfe leads a British amphibious landing to establish a beachhead on Isle Royale.
- Montmorency Falls: On July 31, 1759, British land and amphibious forces attack the entrenched French army during the Quebec campaign.
- Ste-Foy: On April 28, 1760, the French army attempts to recapture Quebec from the weakened British army.
- Bloody Bridge: On July 31, 1763, British relief forces attack Pontiac’s Indian village along the Detroit River to help lift the siege of Fort Detroit.
Across these five scenarios, the expansion covers ambushes, fortified positions, amphibious landings, and hard-fought conventional battles. The varied counters and hex tiles extend the battlefield options of the original game while focusing on a pivotal period in North American history.
Designed for use with Hold the Line, this expansion provides a focused set of French and Indian War engagements for players seeking new scenarios and historical forces.
