Hostage Negotiator: Career is a solo campaign expansion for the Hostage Negotiator system, with a listed play time of 30 minutes. It requires the Hostage Negotiator base game, Hostage Negotiator: Crime Wave, and multiple Abductor Packs.

Play through ten years in the life of a negotiator—provided you do not retire in shame first. Each campaign round begins with a career card, presenting a narrative event that may affect your career depending on the choice you make.

In most, but not all, years, you are called to the scene of the latest hostage situation. The result of each negotiation now matters beyond that individual encounter, shaping the overall campaign and influencing your progress through the negotiator’s career.

• Resolve narrative career events and make consequential choices.
• Manage career stress and personal stress across the campaign.
• Track merit level for promotions, along with rank and other career details.
• Face rewards or reprimands based on the results of your negotiations.

After each negotiation, resolve a personal card and face another narrative event. Its outcome is connected to how you performed during that year, so successful negotiations can bring rewards while poor results may lead to reprimand.

Designed as a culmination of the Hostage Negotiator series, Hostage Negotiator: Career connects individual negotiations into a larger story of professional and personal pressure. Your decisions, results, stress, merit, and rank all contribute to the unfolding ten-year campaign.
