About this board game
Imperial Stars II: Legacy is a light 4X board game for 1–2 players, with an approximately 60-minute play time. Set in the far future, it pits two human empires against each other in a contest of exploration, colonization, and combat.
Players seek control of limited resources in order to score victory points. The game focuses on the core 4X themes of discovering new territory, establishing colonies, engaging in conflict, and competing for what is available across the maps.
Imperial Stars II takes place in the same universe as Astra Titanus: Starfleets vs. Planetbusters! and Forlorn: Hope. It is also the successor to the designer’s print-and-play game Imperial Stars, offering a physical presentation with full-color rules, player aids, maps, and laser-cut counters.
- One 32-page, full-color rules booklet
- Two 8½″ × 5½″ player aid mats
- Two 11″ × 17″ double-sided card stock maps
- 102 thick, laser-cut, multi-shaped counter pieces, with minor assembly required
- Four six-sided dice: two yellow and two red
The package also includes a bright red Standard cardboard VPG game box, a box cover sleeve, a “Wipes-A-Lot” napkin, and a charcoal desiccant packet. Released in 2014, Imperial Stars II: Legacy presents a compact science-fiction empire struggle for players who want exploration, colonization, combat, and victory-point competition in one focused game.
