About this expansion

Isle of Skye: From Chieftain to King – Tunnelplättchen 2 is a 2018 tile addition for 2–5 players, with a listed play time of 50 minutes.

This release adds six tunnel tiles that allow roads to continue through mountains. They introduce a new way for road connections to work, creating links between tunnel endings within the same mountain range.

Under the tunnel rule, a road that ends at a tunnel connects to every other road that ends at a tunnel in that same mountain range. This makes mountain areas especially important when considering how roads connect across the landscape.

  • Six additional tunnel tiles
  • Road connections through mountains
  • Connections between tunnel endings in the same mountain range
  • Whisky barrels that can score points

The module also changes how whisky barrels with points are handled. During income, a barrel scores points instead of earning coins when it is connected to a player’s castle via roads.

This scoring happens before players collect coins based on their positions on the victory-point track. The timing therefore matters when a connected whisky barrel and regular income would both affect the same income phase.

Isle of Skye: From Chieftain to King – Tunnelplättchen 2 was contained in Lookouts’ magazine Neues vom Ausguck #12, published in October 2018, and in spielbox 6/18. It offers a focused set of additions centered on tunnels, mountain-road connections, and the point-scoring use of whisky barrels.
