About this board game

Islet is a competitive board game for 1–4 players that takes about 40 minutes, casting players as tropical birds seeking nesting sites on a small oceanic islet.

Players collectively explore and expand the islet while competing to create the best nests for spawning their eggs. The shared landscape develops through different biomes, making each game an evolving contest between cooperation and competition.

On your turn, choose one of two actions. With EXPLORE, lay 1 to 4 tiles from your reserve to expand the islet and receive resources in return. With MOVE, advance your pawn and SPAWN eggs as many times as you want, in any order and combination, provided you can pay the required resource costs.

• Explore the islet by adding tiles and collecting resources.
• Move your pawn around the growing landscape.
• Create nests and spawn eggs by paying the required resources.
• Compete to spawn the most eggs before the final round ends.

The game can reach its conclusion in two ways. If a player spawns their last egg, their turn finishes and the current round ends so everyone has the same number of turns. Alternatively, taking the last islet tile from the bag ends the current round and leads to one final round under the same equal-turn principle.

When the game ends, the player who has spawned the most eggs wins. Released in 2023, Islet is the second game in the series that began with Coral.
