Jardín Japonés

About this board game

Jardín Japonés is a 50-minute roll-and-write game for 1–99 players about designing a beautiful Japanese garden.

Relax as you decorate your garden and shape a landscape inspired by the unpredictability of nature, the harmony of asymmetry, and the fragility of existence. The game invites you to contemplate your creation, whether you play alone or share the experience with someone you love.

During play, place a variety of decorations throughout your garden. As the landscape develops, each phase brings another important step: tracing ponds that can hold additional features and influence the surrounding environment.

• Place bamboo trees, stone lanterns, and plants.
• Trace ponds at the end of each phase.
• Add stones and bridges within ponds.
• Let moss grow near the ponds.

These elements come together to create a garden defined by balance and gentle variation. The asymmetry of the design reflects nature’s unpredictability, while the peaceful presentation encourages you to slow down and appreciate the landscape taking shape.

Whether enjoyed as a solitary activity or shared with another person, Jardín Japonés offers a relaxing way to roll, write, decorate, and contemplate your own Japanese garden.
