About this board game
La Marche du Crabe is a cooperative deduction game for exactly two players, with sessions lasting around 15 minutes. Players take the roles of unusual square crabs from the Gironde estuary, working together to rescue their trapped companions from items left on the beach.
These crabs face one major limitation: they cannot turn and must move in a straight line. By taking turns climbing on top of each other, however, they have discovered how to move across their environment in a grid pattern. This unusual movement is central to their shared challenge—and to their dependence on one another.
On each turn, a player must play a Baddie card on the beach before moving the crab token. If the crabs stop on an Item Card, their partner indicates whether the item is forbidden. The players must communicate through deduction and coordinate their movements while avoiding formidable brown crabs and sly lobsters.
- Cooperative play designed for two players
- Deduction and shared movement across the beach
- Enemies introduced through Baddie cards
- Shrimps that serve as life points
- Eleven Scenario cards for evolving challenges
To win, the two players must free all eight of their crab buddies before they can no longer place Baddie cards on the beach. They also lose if they need to use shrimps but have none remaining, making careful play essential.
With eleven Scenario cards and new challenges to discover, La Marche du Crabe is designed to grow more demanding over time while offering fresh games. Its compact format combines a playful theme, restricted movement, and teamwork in a distinctive beach rescue adventure.
