About this board game
Labyrinth is a shifting-path puzzle game for 2–4 players that plays in about 20 minutes. Players race through a changing maze to collect their treasures and return to their home space before anyone else.
The board combines fixed tiles with movable tiles that slide through rows of the labyrinth. One tile always remains outside the maze, and on each turn a player takes that extra tile and pushes it into a row. The row shifts as a result, sending another tile out the opposite side; that newly removed tile becomes the next player’s piece to add.
- Slide the extra tile into a row of the labyrinth.
- Shift the maze’s paths as tiles move across the board.
- Navigate the changing routes while collecting your treasures.
- Return to your home space after collecting all your treasures to win.
Because every move can alter the available routes, the board constantly presents a fresh puzzle. A path that was open moments ago may shift, while a new route can appear in another part of the maze.
Labyrinth is simple at first glance and works especially well as a puzzle-solving game for children. Adults can approach it with more strategy and a more cutthroat attitude, making the changing board suitable for different styles of play.
First released in 1986, Labyrinth offers a concise contest of timing, route-finding, and shifting plans. Collect your treasures, keep track of the maze’s movement, and be the first to find your way home.
