About this expansion
Lancaster: Reward Tiles is a tile supplement for 2–5 players, designed for games lasting about 60 minutes and released in 2012. It adds changing reward options to the counties on the game board.
The set includes nine reward tiles for the basic game, plus three exchange tiles for use with the “Henry V – The Power of the King” expansion. The backs of the tiles carry the letters A–I, matching the counties printed on the board.
During setup, place the nine basic-game tiles in the bag and mix them. At the beginning of each game round, draw one reward tile and place it face up beside the county whose letter appears on its back. This creates a new reward opportunity tied to a specific location.
- During the rewards phase, the relevant player may take the drawn reward tile instead of the county’s printed basic reward.
- By paying 3 gold, the player may take both the nobleman tile and the reward tile.
- A player may never claim both the printed reward and the reward tile.
If the reward tile is chosen, its reward is received and the tile is removed from the game. If the player chooses the imprinted reward instead, the reward tile remains in that county and may be claimed in a later round.
When using the “Henry V” expansion, remove power point tiles A, D, and F, then use the matching A, D, and F seal tiles instead. Lancaster: Reward Tiles offers a simple way to introduce temporary, county-specific decisions into each round.
