Leaf: Season of the Bear Expansion is a 2023 expansion for Leaf, designed for 2–4 players with games lasting about 60 minutes.

As summer gives way to autumn, the forest’s large animals begin foraging in earnest while preparing for the long winter ahead. Every change of season brings new challenges and rewards, and all the animals have something to contribute.

This expansion introduces three advanced play modes that can be added to Leaf. Each mode brings a different way to influence the forest and adds new considerations to the changing seasons.

• Animal Allies: Give each player a unique ability that can be used throughout the game.
• Season Events: Add extra scoring conditions to each Frost.
• Greater Animals: Affect the whole forest while giving each player an effect they can use once per game.

Animal Allies create distinct abilities for players to work with across the game, while Season Events add additional scoring conditions at each Frost. Greater Animals extend their influence across the entire forest, giving players a powerful effect to time carefully.

Whether you want ongoing player abilities, more varied seasonal scoring, or effects with a broad impact, Season of the Bear offers several ways to make Leaf more advanced. Choose the mode that suits your group, or explore all three as you prepare the forest and its animals for the coming winter.
