Lucha Wars

About this board game

Lucha Wars is a 2–8-player dice game that brings professional Mexican wrestling, or Lucha Libre, to the tabletop in matches lasting around 45 minutes.

Choose a Luchador and face your opponent in a contest of rolls, attacks, and daring saves. Each wrestler has individual Life levels, a Pinnable level, Combo Attack zones, and Special Attacks activated with a Special Attack Die.

At the start of a round, players simultaneously roll five wrestling dice, aiming to have them land in or touch the wrestling ring. HIT, DODGE, and MISS results are played against each other, with Dodges rerolled once and potentially used to target an opponent’s dice.

The player with the most Hits wins the round, while the loser loses Life equal to the difference in Hits. The round winner also advances their counter one space on the Special Attack Track, unlocking new opportunities during the match, including:

• Using a Special Attack
• Attempting to pin an opponent
• Attacking with the Combo Die
• Taking a Weapon in a Weapons Match

A wrestler reduced to zero Life loses by knockout. If a player reaches the PIN space, the opponent faces a three-count and has three attempts to escape by rolling four of their five wrestling dice.

Lucha Wars also includes Tag-Team, Weapons, Ladder, Changing Alliances, and Cage Match rules. Tag-Team players may tag out to regain slight strength, while Weapons Matches place face-down tokens in the ring’s corners. In the two-player Ladder Match, the first wrestler to reach the top wins.
