About this expansion

Magic: The Gathering – Arena of the Planeswalkers: Battle for Zendikar is a board game expansion for 2–5 players, released in 2015, that brings new Planeswalkers, heroes, squads, spells, and a major Eldrazi threat to the battlefield.

This expansion introduces two additional Planeswalkers, including Kiora, the first multi-color Planeswalker. Kiora can field both green and blue colored creatures and spells, adding a distinctive combination of colors to the game.

Battle for Zendikar also introduces the first three hero creatures, including the terrifying Eldrazi Ruiner. Eldrazi are colorless creatures, so a Planeswalker of any color can summon them.

One included scenario changes the usual battlefield challenge with a 1-player-versus-many setup. In this scenario, players fight against the massive Eldrazi Ruiner in an effort to save Zendikar.
