Marvel United: X-Men – The Horsemen of Apocalypse is a 1–5 player expansion for games lasting about 40 minutes, released in 2022. This Kickstarter Exclusive adventure pits the X-Men against Apocalypse, the first mutant, and his four powerful lieutenants.

Apocalypse has gathered Famine, War, Pestilence, and Death to help carry out his apocalyptic plan. Players can challenge Apocalypse directly, with the Four Horsemen serving as his Threats. Their character pieces are present on the play area, moving between Locations as they spread destruction.

For the ultimate challenge, players can use Four Horsemen Mode. In this mode, the battle against Apocalypse is preceded by separate confrontations with the Horsemen, faced one at a time. Each Horseman uses a reduced Master Plan deck and introduces their own rules and challenges.

• Face Apocalypse with the Four Horsemen active as Threats.
• Take on Famine, War, Pestilence, and Death in sequence.
• Earn extra Action tokens by defeating Horsemen before the final battle.
• Deal with stronger final-game Threats when a Horseman succeeds.

Victory in the preliminary battles can give players additional Action tokens for the confrontation with Apocalypse. However, every Horseman who succeeds becomes a more powerful Threat in the final game, creating a meaningful balance between preparation and escalation.

With its branching challenge structure and escalating consequences, Marvel United: X-Men – The Horsemen of Apocalypse offers a daunting showdown for players seeking an especially demanding X-Men battle.
